Demonic Possession - The Many Causes

I'm certainly not the perfect Christian. I do things all the time that I shouldn't.

I'll talk a little about my background. I am a born again Christian. I was raised in the Baptist faith, but no longer believe in following a specific denomination. Denominations are something that are “man-made”. You don't have to be a specific denomination to be a Christian and worship God.

I also don't claim this article, or myself, to be an expert or any kind of authority on demons or demonology. This article is just something that I felt moved to write from my own knowledge and understandings.

Demons are around us, all the time. They are always provoking us to do things that we shouldn't. They put evil thoughts into our minds.

If you feel their presence, you can ask that they leave “in Jesus' name”. Unfortunately, they won't stay away forever. It's a constant, never ending battle. The more Christian you are, the worse it will be.

I also want to explain one thing: ghosts are demons. When you die, you go to Heaven or Hell. There is no "in-between", however; the Devil wants you to believe there is.

He sends demons to pose as ghosts/spirits in his mission to make you doubt that there is a God, that maybe there's no Heaven, and that maybe we just hang around on Earth when we die.

In reality, ghosts are just demons that are having fun tricking you. God has a sense of humor and so does the Devil.

Here's a list of things that can cause demonic possession in a person's life and, I believe that if you know what causes it, you can certainly take steps to prevent it. (There are many more things that I could add to this list, but I think these are some of the most important.)

Seances, Ouija Boards, Tarot Cards, Runes, etc.

These items are tools that are used to contact the “spirit world”. In other words, they summon demons. Demons see this as an easy way to possess you because you are creating a bridge between yourself and Hell. You're basically rolling out a Welcome Mat for them to just walk right into your body.

Provoking

Provoking a demon to attack or cause harm to anyone can cause demonic possession to take place. Asking a demon to become violent is something that you should never do. By asking it, you are giving it permission to harm you. Do NOT do this! Why would you want something like this to harm you in the first place?

Invoking

Never ask or invoke a demon to enter your body. Obviously, this is just asking for trouble.

Addictions

Addictions to alcohol, drugs, gambling, and pornography can cause demonic possessions to occur.

The Occult

Dabbling in the Occult or anything that has to do with worshiping the Devil.

What you put on your body

Wearing Satanic jewelry, getting Satanic tattoos, or wearing Satanic clothing.

Psychics

I can tell you a few secrets about psychics. They only know your past, they guess at your future, and their “spirit guides” are all demons whispering in their ears. Only God knows the future. The Devil and his demons guess at it. This explains why psychics know anything and everything about your past and 90% of the time predict your future wrong. What they do is make a guess based on what information that they do know about you and what you've told them. If psychics were real, they'd never have to ask you a thing.

Psychics open channels to demons similar to people opening doorways in seances and Ouija Boards. Stay away from psychics! They only want your money anyway.

Worshiping False Idols

This would include any religion were you worship another “god” that is not God himself.

Extreme Hatred

I think this one speaks for itself.

Repetitive Violence / Extreme Violence

Purposely harming others repetitively, whether it be mental or physical harm.

Purposely committing murder(s).

• In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an evil spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice, “Ha! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are-the Holy One of God!” “Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly. “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him. All the people were amazed and said to each other, “What is this teaching? With authority and power he gives orders to evil spirits and they come out!” – Luke 4:33-36
